FILTER: DESTRUCTIVE FORCES AT WORK
The space is filled with dozens of bird cages and casts of human chests. In one of the cages is a canary, reminiscent of the canary in a coal mine, the unfortunate bird that was released in the mine shaft to see if the air contained deadly gases. The cast chests are made of petroleum coke. By connecting the metaphors with each other, the artist posits that the ecological destruction caused by human beings will inevitably lead to the destruction of humanity itself.
