James Beckett
FILTER: VIOLENCE AND ITS COUNTERSTRIKES
Sets play an important role in James Beckett’s work. He makes installations using found historical objects that can be read in various ways. Beckett: ‘The looser my grip, the richer the results.’
For Voodoo Justice for People of Finance, Beckett drew the portraits of leading figures of the financial world, for him the main culprits of the economic crisis. His dubious hall of fame is outfitted with shelves under each portrait, each bearing an appropriate stone. With what purpose were they placed there?
