Kianoosh Motallebi
The installation “Beyond the Dark” by Motallebi focusses on how the solar atmosphere absorbs a part of the light the sun produces. These wavelenghts and their corresponding colours never reach the earth. A caroussel slide projection shows 80 of these wavelenghts and their corresponding colours.
For Hacking Habitat Motallebi made a new version of “Beyond the Dark”. Not slide projection but an algorhitmically produced colourscheme is radiating from the largest possible flatscreen available. The kind reminding advertising screens that accompany us every day, leaving their marks almost unnoticed. LCD screens use liquid-crystal displaying pixels that are switched on or off using liquid crystals to rotate polarized light.

That what we know, but above all that what we don’t know is the thread in the work of Kianoosh Motallebi. In his projects he presents issues related to our physical world, so the relationship between art, existential issues and technology.
