Day-to-day life and routine is an important source of inspiration for Luuk Wilmering. His photography, collages, paintings, installations, multiples and books are partly inspired by the feeling that reality is made up of “…rather aimless chains of coincidences and absurd situations in which you easily lose your way.” Just like the daily news… In Cut Out, Wilmering has clipped all the news out of the front pages of international newspapers. The complete absence of text and images turns the pages into abstract windows, reminiscent of construction plans in which every element is interchangeable.
