FILTER: VIOLENCE AND ITS COUNTERSTRIKES

Trained as an architect Huarte found her passion in working with open spaces that can be intuitively touched and simultaneously transformed. Starting small these quickly made place for large scale buildings, rooftops and parking lots. For the two prison yards she proposed a design based on the line, not only as a flat element but to explore its limits, its potential fold, the thickness of it and how to enter its interiority. The playful approach to these oppressive spaces is inspiring: the space transforms from a space of confinement into an invitation to play. The friction areas promise creative potential.
